Amarayoni have become one of South Africa's finest Mbube vocal groups over the past 10 years. The group's music is strongly influenced by the Is'cathamiya style, but Amarayoni also achieve their special unique sound by adding in plenty of township vibes, along with some "Bandit" music and their strong Gospel influence. The group's name, "Amarayoni", is a slang version of "Ama-Lion", which is derived from the word "Amabhubesi" which is the Zulu word for "Lion". Amarayoni have been charming audiences around South Africa and around the World for the past 10 years, performing in South America 'Mexico', also in the African Continent in Benin and Swaziland just to name a few. The 3 Albums have taken the group to far lager audiences due to its steady sales and the popularity of songs like 'Thembalami', Imali Yami, Lizzy and 'Voet Sek, Go once'. Amarayoni have grown into a strong, stable, and harmonious musical unit with all the closely-knit members fully understanding and appreciating their important roles as singers in a nation that tends to sing about almost anything that happened to its people.
